Acworth Real Estate

City convenience meets country charm in the beautiful city of Acworth. Also known as The Lake City, the area is surrounded by Lake Acworth and Lake Allatoona and is partly built over a large underground aquifer. This delightful suburb is located just 35 minutes northwest of Atlanta. The city of Acworth sprawls to parts of Cobb, Paulding, Bartow and Cherokee Counties and it's convenience to both Interstate 75 and Highway 41 makes it a great choice for commuters.

Acworth is an outstanding choice for families because the city has something for everyone. Cobblestone Golf Course was recently rated the #1 public course in Georgia by Golf Digest and is a perfect retreat for Acworth dads. Moms will enjoy area shopping, the tranquility that the natural landscape provides and the camaraderie created by such area organizations as the Mom's Club of Acworth. Kids will enjoy a host of activities in the area including hiking, camping, miniature golf and water sports.

While the excitement of Atlanta is only a short drive away and offers a number of exciting venues for families to explore, Acworth has lots to see and do as well. Theater On Main, the Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site, the Rose Lawn Museum, and the Collins Avenue Historic District are just a few items on Acworth's menu of attractions. Additionally, Acworth offers a wide-range of shopping and recreational choices great for active families. Residents will enjoy Acworth's historic downtown area as it holds the honor of being Cobb County's only designated Main Street City.

The downtown area still maintains architectural remnants from the late 19th and early 20th centuries which keep the area connected to its historical roots. Just a short drive away, residents will find Town Center Mall which boasts over 200 stores and happens to be one of the largest shopping malls in the area. Other shopping and dining options are nearby at historic Marietta Square, The Avenue West Cobb and Lakeside Shopping Center. In the spring and summer, Acworth kids will enjoy swimming, fishing, boating and a number of other outdoor activities at the lakes within the city limits.

When they're not spending their summer breaks on the lakefront, Acworth students in grades K-12 attend excellent schools in the Cobb County, Cherokee County and Bartow County school districts. Acworth is home to five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. Several colleges and universities are a short commute away.

Acworth is home to nearly 20,000 residents. Housing options exhibit fine craftsmanship and design and include single-family detached homes, condominiums and town homes along picture perfect, tree-lined streets. There are a number of golf, swim and tennis communities in the area, some even with lake views. Homebuyers will find plenty of options whether they prefer a custom built home in a brand new community or a traditional home in one of Acworth's many friendly, established neighborhoods. Established single family homes start in the low to mid $100s while elegant new construction starts in the $200s.
