Braselton, named after a prominent area family, is uniquely located spanning the counties of Hall, Jackson, Gwinnett and Barrow. The town was bought from the Braselton family by a partnership between the Ameritech Pension fund and actress Kim Bassinger in 1989 for $20 million, though she eventually sold her portion.
