Jefferson Real Estate

Jefferson is located in Jackson County and is only an hour's drive from the City of Atlanta. Like many Georgia towns, the area pays homage to historical figures and sites. The city is named for President Thomas Jefferson and is recognized as the site of a site of Thomoccoggan, a previous Native American settlement.

Residents will enjoy their proximity to North Georgia shopping centers. Neighboring Gwinnett County features three major malls that welcome shoppers from all over the state. Tanger Outlets in Commerce and the North Georgia Premium Outlet Center in Dawsonville are a bargain hunter's dream. Hundreds of antique shops, art galleries and flea markets also line streets in the area.

While Atlanta is just an hour away and features world class venues and attractions, residents of Jefferson will enjoy entertainment within city limits as well. Community events such as the Arbor Day Celebration and the Christmas Parade and Tour of Homes are great for the entire family. Additionally, neighboring towns within Jackson County offer additional cultural events and recreation as well.

Families will enjoy touring nearby Mayfield Dairy Farms and sampling good, old-fashioned ice cream. Boating, swimming and relaxing at nearby Lake Lanier is also a well-deserved treat. And when you need a romantic getaway, golf retreat or a luxurious massage, Chateau Elan is just a short drive away.

Students residing in Jefferson will attend schools in the Jackson County School System. The system is comprised of 12 schools and students in the area have been received numerous awards recognizing their excellence in both academics and athletics. Private schools are also convenient to the area and several notable colleges and universities are nearby. The Georgia Council for Administrators of Special Education recently recognized the Jackson County School System for outstanding efforts to improve the performance of students with disabilities. The system was also recognized for innovative use of technology to assess the performance of each student.

Imagine living in a sprawling estate on the 18th fairway. Commerce boasts beautiful custom homes in upscale communities. Traditional and contemporary homes in the area are perfect for prospective buyers with refined tastes. There's no shortage of spacious homes, acreage and fabulous amenities here. Great values in the area start from the low $100s.
