Post-secondary education is available from Appalachian Technical College in nearby Jasper, offering eighteen diploma and technical certificate programs as part of its curriculum. Known as a weekend getaway spot, the area has thrived due to a rise in vacation and second homes for Georgians lured by the breathtaking beauty of the area. Talking Rock is in located in Pickens County which is nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The area became an incorporated community in 1883.
